For weeks now Maurice Kirk, who has been on hunger strike in Cardiff prison for weeks, has tried to submit bail applications to the court. All attempts have failed so far, hence the message below. They havent even told him why he is on remand. On the prison computer it reveals “charge: unknown” by his name, he is informed by one of the friendlier prison staff when he tried to find out. Maurice is a campaigner for Human Rights and other noble causes, and an avid supporter of the M family of Haringey, who have had 6 children removed under exceptionally dubious circumstances. The messages below speak for themselves:

After being blocked at first by police etc from attending his court hearing, he eventually was taken.

His bail applications were still refused to be given to the court by prison staff, so the court was notified of the of the situation:

To whom it may concern,
This is an official notification that I have informed you that Mr. Maurice Kirk, who is a remand prisoner in Cardiff prison tried to give this court bail application papers on the 10 November 2011 via the prison staff who was escorting him to the court but the prison staff refused to give his bail application papers to the court.
I duly called the court at approx. 16.15 gmt on the 10th Nov. on number {redacted} and spoke to a female called {redacted} whom i told about this series of events. I have a recording of the call.
Thank you.

Apparently he is not allowed to cross-examine any witnesses, which obviously will be detrimental to his case. And must have a solicitor – either he chooses one, or one will be appointed. Maurice is still on hunger strike, and his court case is not listed, as it should be:
