Dave Courtney: Becoming A Drug Dealer & Police Corruption
Dave Courtney describes himself as “A Criminal With A Conscience”. Freddie Foreman once told Dave it’s impossible to stop doing crime as it’s the most addictive thing in the world. Selling drugs is more addictive than taking drugs. Dave Courtney explains how 95% of drug dealers get started – from postman to dealer in 4 months. Before they know it they get caught and the police will calculate a huge proceeds from crime figure or turn them into a grass.
Dave Courtney was born in Bermondsey, London and is an English self-proclaimed former gangster who has become both an author and celebrity. He is probably best known for organising the security at gangster Ronnie Kray’s funeral in 1995 and was associated with The Kray twins for a number of years. Dave was the inspiration for Vinnie Jones’s debt-collecting hard man in the Guy Ritchie movie Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.
Dave Courtney is now an author, having had six books published: Stop The Ride I Want to Get Off, Raving Lunacy, Dodgy Dave’s Little Black Book, The Ride’s Back On, F**k the Ride and Heroes & Villains. He also starred in and produced his own film, Hell To Pay with Billy Murray, Mikey Pugh, Andy Beckwith, Gary Bushell, John Pyle, Martin Hancock, Demolition Man & Dave Legeno. He is famous for being “The Yellow Pages of the Underworld” with connections to not only The Krays but also The Gambinos, Freddie Foreman and Mad Frankie Fraser with whom he has clashed in recent years.
His reach now extends outside the world of crime & he has worked with icons such as Jay-Z and Sir Richard Branson. This clip —was filmed at Dave Courtney’s home in London in July 2021.
